Interest on a credit balance

I have a credit balance on my account at EDgars, of R323.00 they charged me 2.90 interest, my account now is R321.00, when I phoned to query it they said that was standard practice, at that rate I will owe them money eventually, I would like to know if I have a zero balance would I end up owing them money. So I will need to closes my account????
