Inefficient systems- i want my money back

I recently lost my phone which was insured by Edgars, I submitted my claim which was approved a few days later. On the 28th of September I went to Edgars Westgate to get the replacement phone. The phone I chose meant that I had to top up with R1499.90. I understood that and my excess was R90. This meant that I had I had to pay a total of R1589.90, the cashier processed the transaction and I received notification from my bank that an amount of R1589.90 was debited from my account. A few minutes later the cashier informed me that the transaction did not go through on their side. I didn’t understand and I questioned why this was happening, I was informed that the amount normally reverses after 24hrs and if it doesn’t I should go to the store with proof from bank statement. The same transaction was processed and this time around it went through. However this meant that I paid the same amount twice so I waited for 24hours to lapse and on the 30th of September I went to Edgars in Westgate mall with my bank statement to serve as proof that the money was debited from my account twice. The lady who assisted me informed me that it was too late to call the head office as they close at 6. She informed me that a call will be logged on Saturday 0n the 1st of October or Monday the 3rd of October. I don’t understand why I have to suffer because of inefficient Edgars systems. It has been such a huge inconvenience with me having to source the funds elsewhere to cover my monthly costs. I have been left inconvenienced financially and it’s not fair. I want my money back and I don’t understand why I have to wait for so long to get it back when it just took minutes to leave my account.
