Increasing prices before Red Hanger Sale

On Sunday I bought a red Guess T-shirt that was part of the 30% discount promotion. When I got home I realised that the original price was scratched out and a price sticker with a higher price was stuck over it. The original price was R 299.00 on the Edgars tag as well as on the Guess tag. The price sticker was for R 349.00-Since when do you charge more for a Guess item than the reserved price on the Guess tag? We experienced the same thing at Edgars Clearwater when you had the 50% discount promotion in July- an item that was originally marked R 999.00 was increased with a price sticker to R 1 999.00. This is false advertising and *****ing. Last week I send 2 e-mails to [Email Removed] regarding a pair of Steve Madden shoes that I needed at East Rand Mall- I never received a reply and no use phoning the call centre as they have no idea what I am talking about. I spend thousands at Edgars every month- you can check my Thank U card as proof, but if this is the way you are doing business, I do not want any part of it.

Hello BonnieHA,

Thank you for raising your apprehensions with us. Please be advised the pric increases were implemented well ahead of the Edgars promotional activities. Therefore, the perception that price increases were implemented just prior to promotion or to increase sales, is incorrect and any confusion created was not at all intended. We apologise for the overall unpleasant shopping experience, but we assure you measures will be taken to avoid the re-occurrence of this nature.

Please note the Steve Madden shoe will be sourced for you and feedback will be given to you shortly.
