Inconvenience caused by unprofessional people

I have been asking them to cancel my airtime contract since oct/Nov last year, all I kept getting were references. I went back to Edgars on Thursday, asking for cancellation again and was told that I would get a call from RMCS, all I got was a sms with a cancellation reference on Saturday.

Now I lost my phone this morning and need to block it and claim another one from my insurance, I called this edgars jet airtime call centre and I was told that I would get a call back within 24 -48 hours, after that I will be sent a form that I need to fill in and send back to them, only after that will my phone be blocked. I tried to explain to this woman that I don't have a phone right now and I am missing out on important calls and it did seem like she cares.

The reason why I have insurance in the first place is so that I can replace my phone as soon as possible should an incident like this occurs because I can't afford to miss out on important calls, but now I'm not being delayed by my insurance but by these unprofessional people. It's an inconvenience I am not willing to leave with, to a point where I have decided to close my edgars account after this incident.

If this contract would have been cancelled when I asked, I would have blocked my phone via Vodacom and by now would have claimed another phone from my insurance. I really really really feel disappointed.

I am really wonder what you people have done to resolve this issue.....really. Because all I have right now is another reference number and I am sure as hell that 48hours have passed. I still have no ITC number to claim another phone and I still have to wait another 48hr for a sim swap. Here are a few things that ****es me off about this whole mess; 1. You trick people into getting into this contract, claiming that edgars will send them discounted airtime for 6 months, knowing very well that it's not for 6 months (mine has been going on for over a year now). 2. Getting out of this contract is extremely difficult, if not impossible, since I have tried to cancel mine since Nov 2016 ref: EDCP - 101 ********** 691 till last week Thursday ref: EDCP - 171 ********** 152. 3. I bought my phone cash, it's not a contract phone, so I don't understand why I have to struggle to get am ITC number on a phone that's not covered by the contract. 4. If you didn't trick your clients into this contract, my sim would be prepaid and I wouldn't be dealing with all this nonsense. Maybe the consumer counsellor of south africa needs to her what you edgars are doing to people.
