Incompentant Edgars administration to close account
Prior to emigrating overseas, I went to an Edgars branch, paid the account in full, and asked for the account to be closed. The sales rep called the head office call centre and I was assured that all was in order. However, 2 months later, after I had left SA, I recieved a notice of an overdue account. When I called the call centrw, I was advised that I needed to pay the amount before the account could be closed. I did that, emailed the accounts closure team and asked Edgars to close my account - again. However, anotherr three months laters, I AGAIN received a notice of outstanding balance and again had to call the call centre and may payment. And yet again, I requested the account to be closed.
This continues - however, I have since refused to pay the overdue accounts as this seems to be the cycle. In Feb this year, I called the call centre, and was assured that the balance of R280 would be written off and the account closed. AND now I am recieving letters from a Deb recovery agency, which when I contacted and presented the evidence, assured me that the matter would be urgently investigated. However, they are now threatening to have my name blacklisted!
This is frustrating and ridiculous and is costing me a fortune in interntional calls., Edgars - sort out your back office administration!
