I was **** to about an interest free account

After years of not having accounts, I signed up for an Edgars 6 month interest free account. I was with the consultant and asked her at least 5 times about the account being interest free, she assured me again and again. I got my first statement by calling in as the statement did not arrive by email as promised, the amount due was about R16,00 on a R1000,00 purchase, this obviously raised alarms as R1000,00 over 6 months is NOT R16,00 so I called to find out what was going on only to hear that my account was in fact a 12 month interest bearing account.

MY MISTAKE: I signed the terms and conditions without sitting in front of the consultant reading the fine print which would have taken me the better part of an hour.

EDGARS MISTAKE: Lying to a customer, assuring them of a 6 month interest free account when in fact it's a 12 month interest bearing account. Sneaky sneaky Edgars, If you'd been up front and let me know, I would not have opened the account.

Edgars should make this account interest free and simply honour their word. It's disgusting to use tactics like this in todays times, people don't take kindly to this type of thing guys, start treating your customers with respect, start by sorting this out.

Thank you for making contact with us .Please note that your query is being attended to and feedback will be provided to you.In some instances one would apply for a 6months account and the system rejects 6months and approves a 12 month account based on minimum points .***/GO

Kind regards

EDGARS SAY..... "In some instances one would apply for a 6months account and the system rejects 6months and approves a 12 month account based on minimum points" Surely I should be notified/asked if I would like this option, It should not be at your discretion as a company to decide that for me. I was promised a 6 month interest free account and you just switch me to a 12 month interest bearing account without consulting me, I would have said NO! Please correct this ASAP!
