I cannot close my Edgars account

I have been trying to close my Edgars account for over a year. I have not used that account for over 2 years but I land with a balance of R534, which I paid and sent the pop to customer services and asked to close my account. Oh no that’s apparently not the way to go. 5 months after I have a bill of approx R700? I get calls daily harasses daily and no one cares. I have mailed customer care and get zero response. Eventually I get a response saying if you want to close your account t you need to request a settlement letter? What???? I got a mail telling me what I owe and paid it and requested to close my account? So now I must pay over R1000 for an account I have not used for over 2 years. Worst ever 😡😡😡 I refuse to be exploited by madness? The woman says to me their process is of you want to close your account ask for. Settlement letter, Did I not know that? I said how would I know that, logic prevails, outstanding balance, pay, send pop by mail, request account closure, request response .. apparently not
