How *********** Can You Be
In regards to my account with Edgars (account number: ***):
On the 24th of July, I submitted a long compliant (below as a reference) at how ridiculous it is that I closed my account down at the end of April and because my request was ignored they continued to bill me service fees.
I then received a reply on the 25th July my hellopeter stating that outstanding balance is R95.81. This is impossible because it means that they still haven't reimbursed me for the fees accumulated after I had closed my account. This means that they still are NOT listening.
On the 25th July, I received an email statement saying I currently owe R55.47 but the larger debit is R263.81. So which one is it R55 or R95 or R263.81? The answer is NEITHER as I CLOSED MY ACCOUNT DOWN.
Today, 6th August, two weeks later, I receive a call saying that my case has been escalated and is being reviewed. What have you been doing in the last two weeks? What is there to review??? I closed my account down in April. Reverse the wrongly accumulated charges and write me a massive we are sorry letter. In my company, we would have sorted this out in minutes. You have a whole accounting department and another client service department. Yet in May, June or July you couldn't sort this out. The waste of time and telephone calls is way more than the balance. They call this insanity. And the best of all is you lose a 30-year faithful client who has made it his mission to tell everyone he knows about his experience.
For fun here is my previous post: In regards to my account with Edgars (account number: ***):
1. I sent the service and accounts department an email on 29th April requesting my account to be closed. This was outright ignored. 2. I sent a follow-up email on the 30th May. 3. I received a confirmation email from Edcon that account was closed on the 3rd June 4. Early July I received an automated call that imp**** that if I didn't pay my account, they would blacklist me. Because they didn't close my account as promised, there has been an accumulation of service fees. 5. I called Edcon to query this, and they ensured me that my account would be closed. 6. On the 9th July I received an SMS confirming that my account has been closed. 7. Since then, I have received multiple phone calls from Edgars insisting I pay the outstanding balance; otherwise, I will be blacklisted. 8. I sent another mail explaining the ridiculousness of the situation and confirming this is an administration error on their side. 9. On the 17th July, I received a confirmation email that all charges have been reversed and my account is closed. Because the request to close my account was on the 29th April, I still need to pay the May's fees. This I will gladly do. 10. I responded to the email asking to confirm what the exact amount is still outstanding so I can settle it. 11. I received a mail on 20th July explaining that the original full amount is still due. I have since sent three emails trying to rectify this. They have not had the common decency to respond to my mails. What is so annoying in this situation is I am the client but have to run around them. Even though it is their administrative fault they can freely blacklist me and I have to suffer the consequence. As I said, I will gladly pay the May fees but don't believe I should have to pay for June and July. At my company this matter would have been resolved in a few miniutes. This is now into the third month. Please can you help me resolve this.
