having specials but you cannot buy it on your account

Yesterday (30/11/2024) I went to Tygervalley to get some goods for the kids from the buy 1 get 1 free black friday special, but when I got to the till they I was said that they you cannot buy on account as they were currently offline. this was just very strange, but i thought OK no problem i asked the lady to keep the stuff for me and if possible to call me when it is online again cuz the sizes was the last that there was and the style of the takkies, she took my name and number and i also asked if this black Friday special will still be on tomorrow (the Sunday) she confirmed that it will be available. Went back to the store today (01/12/2024) and to my surprise the special was done, i asked what if they kept my things of yesterday and I was informed that unfortunately that was only for yesterday. Why i am disappointed is that it just felt that the system was conveniently offline on the day for the buy 1 get 1 free and then on top of it, the lady mentioned that the special will be running again like today when it was not running
