from credit balance to collections

just last year when the year was towards the end, i was in a credit balance of R900+. i went to the Sandton City branch to close the account and was told to visit the SAPS first to write an affidavit that i want to close the account and send it to Edcon. i did so. i was told they will get back to me as i had even said they must cancel all the fees going off on the account as i dont want it anymore and am not using it for a long time now. i went to southgate in DEC requesting again the account be closed and my money returned an some girl on training says to me i need to pay around R200... wow! here i am, chilled, Jan vibes>>> i get a call yesterday from a collections company that Edgars has handed me over and i now owe them R500+ ***???? CAN THIS ACCOUNT BE CLOSED ALREADY! I HAVE NEVER OWED YOU! I HAVE ALWAYS PAID MORE THAN I WAS SUPPOSED TO! I AM A BANKER FOR HEAVENS SAKE, I KNOW WHAT MONEY MANAGEMENT IS. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME GET RID OF THIS ACCOUNT??????
