I got a call from edgars clear water on the 14th March and the lady on the line said there was some lady who made a purchase with my account and I didn't understand that course I am based in Pretoria and all transactions and payments are made in Pretoria. It's over a year since I haven't made any purchases with my account so I don't understand how it was possible for another person to be able to use my account and without them making sure the account belongs with to them and what surprises me is that my account was settled and if you haven't made any purchases with your account they ask you lots of questions to confirm the account is yours. Apparently they could notice by a signature which I still don't understand that how can they not notice that the person using my account was using it **********ly. Each and every transaction that is made on an account is on the system, why couldn't they notice that. If it was me that was making purchase with my account after such a long time they have asked me questions to confirm that the belongs to me especially because the amount wasn't owing anything, it was zero balance. I fail to understand how is all this possible, I have almost 17 years having an edgars account and after such a long time this happens that another person used my account and made a purchase of 5000 and the store could not pick on that. I have worked so hard over the past years to settle this amount,i am shocked and shaken about all this. That how could another person be able to use my account **********ly while I am based in Pretoria and the transaction is made in Clearwater, I have my card with me here and I just went numb when the lady called and they telling me that they tried calling me serval times and I didn't pick up why couldn't they pick that if I was the owner of the account the phone would have ring on the lady. Why didn't they ask for identification, ask questions that they ask us to confirm the information correspondence with the information they see on the system and they tell me they have been trying to call me. I fail to understand all this. I even called the edgars head office to confirm all this. I am disappointed in them.
