Fines charged to me for retailer incompetance
February I updated my details in Canal Walk Edgars - I was given a s****py piece of paper to write it on. On 1 April I went in at Bayside, asked if they have my correct details since I have not received an invoices. I was told to speak to someone at head office. I gave my details again.
On 10 April I get an SMS. I am in arrears and need to pay immediately to avoid a bad credit record. Given that I am in VERY good standing with creditors and this is just a clothing account, this felt rude & insulting
I sent an email (now I want a paper trail) asking what amount the instalment is that they want me to pay. On Sunday I got an invoice which included late charges!
I rep**** explaining AGAIN why the account was unpaid - due to their negligence. In fairness they should waiver the late charges.
Edgars refuses to waiver the charges regardless that I updated my details twice. I have to pay for the incompetence of their systems & staff.
I will be settling the entire account and closing it. The interest paid on a credit card at another store, and friendly voice of my personal banker, will be worth dealing with, rather than demanding SMS's and a bad attitudes.
