Edgars/Edcon WTH?

I requested Edgars to close my account as seemingly with their takeover there was an issue with payments made and my credit score was effected by the account that i have had for more than 20 years. After more than one request to have the account closed and prior requests to have the club fees stopped, the account was eventually closed. On 22 July 2021 I wrongly paid R1,000 to the closed Edgars account via EFT. I have sent emails to different Edgars addresses and spent time on numerous phone calls. It would seem that if you are not sure how to help a customer the easy thing to do is to drop the call. I would like some feedback, if any on the R1.000 payment that should have rejected with Edgars who now "have no record" of my account or ID number.
