Edgars, where is the empathy?!
I have had an Edgars account since 1989 and have always paid my monthly amount, or in excess of it. Eighteen months ago, I paid up the entire account. There have been one or two instances when a tight spot arose, but I always alerted them to it and then paid in additional amounts in the following months. I know Edgars is experiencing difficulties, but hounding people who pay monthly, for instalments in the middle of a month, with no inkling of the person's individual situation and no respect for it either, is not the way to retain loyal customers. If a person receives a salary on 25 July, what is the sense of sending abusive, threatening sms messages already on the 23rd? What if I was planning to pay in two days' time? And what if I no longer receive that salary, like thousands of people in the country and millions all over the world? I am disappointed and will not set foot in an Edgars store, whether to pay cash or buy on my account (which, incidentally, has R 5,000+ credit, the last time I looked two days ago).
Best regards,
