Edgars, "Treating Loyal Customers Unfairly"

I pay my account on time every month but for some reason Edgars has not linked my latest payment to my account.

I made payment on 31 May 2019 for my full installment owing (via EFT as I ALWAYS do as I have Edgars saved as a beneficiary, so no details were incorrectly entered!).

I wanted to do an online Father's Day order last night but I couldn't as my account has been suspended due to a system error saying that my installment is over due.

I emailed ********** this morning with my proof of payment (paid on 31 May). I received an email acknowledging receipt of my email. I then called the accounts department to have my payment allocated so that I can do ahead with my Father's Day purchase.

Neither the consultant nor her team manager was able to help as apparently there is nothing they can do as it can take up to 14 days for the funds to clear!! 14 days I could be without a service I'm PAID for! No one could assist in unsuspending my account. How is it legal that I have paid but due to Edgars incompetence and an error on their side, I am inconvenienced? I have paid for a service that I'm being refused, at no fault of mine!

I have been a loyal customer since 2002 and this is how a I am treated? Why pay my installment each month and on time if I'm denied the service I've paid for? Why am I inconvenienced and punished for your error, Edgars? Why I am I not receiving the service I paid for on 31 May? Why could my payment not be allocated on receipt of my proof of payment? Why do I even need to send you proof of payment anyway (at my own expense - bank charges)? What is wrong with your systems and service??

I want: 1. My account suspension lifted so I can make my purchase. 2. Some compensation for the inconvenience and cost to me (my lengthly cellphone calls in trying to resolve your errors, bank charges for getting the proof of payment and unnecessary time wasted) would also be appreciated!

Sort your service out Edgars or else you're going to lose a loyal, paying customer of 17 years!

Cynthia Chetty called me yesterday as she is dealing with my complaint. She asked me to email her my proof of payment directly to her email address, which I did immediately and she confirmed receipt.

Today I received an email from the collections department saying I need to pay immediately. My account is still suspended! I tried emailing Cynthia and *** for a follow up but all edcon emails are bouncing.

I then called customer care and was told there is nothing they can do, eventhough they have my proof of payment, and that I need to wait for Cynthia to get back to me. How long do I wait?? I really regret paying my installment on 31 May, if I didn't, I would be in the same situation I am in now (account in arrears and debt collectors harassing me) but at least I would have had my installment amount in my bank account to purchas Father's Day gifts for Sunday!

I want my suspension lifted from my account today (this should have been done yesterday)! Stop making your errors my problem!

Harrased and inconvenienced for being a loyal Edgars customer for 17 years!
