Edgars & MBD refuse to give me a Paid up Letter
My name is Nedine Barnard (Swanepoel). I had an account with Edgars with a balance of R5k+. In December 2017 I received a call and a SMS from MBD, offering me a settlement discount and paid up letter. They said they would take a debit order of R1789.24, which was taken on 20 December 2017. They (MBD) said I would receive the paid up letter within 5 working days. I called them on the 28 December to find out if they have received the funds, of which they confirmed YES but then told me that only EDGARS can issue the paid up letter but they will escalate this to them and then I will receive it within 14 working days. In January I phoned Edgars and I couldn't get through to the call center because my account didn't exist. Then a week later I could get through but I was told that they are unaware of the settlement and I still owe R3k+, so I cannot get a settlement letter. They said that MBD must inform EDGARS of the settlement on them they can close the account. When I phoned MBD they told me my file was closed and the cannot help me. I phoned EDGARS again today and was told that I owe R3k+ and they can't issue a paid up letter. So if MBD can't do anything and EDGARS refuses to do anything, how do I get this closed and settled???
