Edgars Mall of Africa and Fidelity Mall of Africa

Today at Edgars Mall of Africa, I was treated like a *****. Me and my friend were in the store to get a skirt, we did get two different skirts and my friend proceeded to fitting rooms to try them. I then followed her to see how they suits her and at the fitting rooms entrance I got sanitizered as per norm and I then said I am going to see my friend, so I went in the same room as her, little did I know we will be suspectes of ****** goods. The skirt’s didn’t fit her the way we want, we then went out of the fitting to put the items back and we were on our way out. My friend went out first as she was ahead of me, I then followed her, little did we know that they were already eyeing on us. When I was about to exit, the machine bipped, I then went back in the store so that they can check my bag. I asked “ why is the machine biping”, the guy at the entrance searched my bag and he did find anything. The camera room lady arrived and said to me: “come with me, you know what you did” and asked the other guys to go for my friend, which she nearly fell from escalator as she wanted to come up with the ones that were going down as she was already going down. The guys called the mall securities on her saying she stole.

While walking with the rude lady by the name of Maria, I asked her where am I going? Is it because of the biping of the machine? Her response was: “shut up you know what you did, I have evidence ” I then kept quiet and proceeded with her. When we get to the camera room, she said sit down and wait for your friend. In this whole things other customers are looking at us and maybe the even took videos.

My friend got harassed as well on her way to the camera room. We then got searched and they didn’t find anything. We then asked why are you being so rude to us, why did you have to treat us like ******* and her answer was I have evidence and I suspected. I then said to her, you have already concluded that we stole from you, you should have spoke to us politely and at that moment we are angry 😡 and she then took out a knife on us asking us if we fighting.

At this moment I am traumatized, shaking. They refused to call store manager and area manager for us so that we can voice out our rights or feelings. Our rights as customer were violated and all they were caring about was their rights. Maria said to us she is her superior.

Edgars Mall of Africa together with Fidelity Mall of Africa violated my rights as a customer and a RSA citizen. I am not okay 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
