Edgars **********

As I had no debt, I was advised to open a clothing account for potential creditors to check my credibility status. I reluctantly opened a Edgars account and had an option between a 6 month, no interest account or a 12 month interest bearing account. I opted for the no interest option, started using the account and paid more than the stipulated minimum monthly payments. As my account balance did not adjust according to my payments, I inquired the reason therefor and was told I was on a 12 month interest account as "I did not qualify" for the 6 month option. Several moths later after making regular payments, I again noticed that the balance did not reduce even though I stopped purchasing. I again inquired the reason and was then informed that it was due to "club fees and funeral policies" being charged for. I advised that I never requested therefore and informed them that I was taking legal action for being de*****ed. Only then was my balance reduced by R2000.00. Now however I receive regular messages that my account is overdue and need to make immediate payments, regardless of my regular payments and not making any purchases. I now understand why Edcon is on the brink of closing down due to financial woes.
