EDGARS don't care

My mother is a senior citizen and had an Edgars account since the 1960s. About 2 to 3 months ago she paid her account at Edgars Klerksdorp in cash. She did not pay attention to see that she received a receipt. She can remember telling the cahier that her account is paid up - R1400. She then received a phone call saying she hasn't paid her account and understanding that she had no proof of payment she paid the account again with her internet banking. She then again received messages that she hasn't paid her account. At this stage I took over to try and sort out the problem. I e-mailed them proof of payment on which they stated that the payment went to the wrong account. A week ago I asked them to send me an account statement so that we can see if all the previous payments made the past year, paid the same way, were credited against her account. Every couple of days I sent an e-mail saying we still haven't received the statement. How can it take a week to send a statement. Today I received a sms that they handed over her account to the credit bureau. My question is where did all the past payments go that were paid via internet banking that is why we need a statement of the Edgars account) loaded on bill payments and why hasn't anyone from Edgars contacted her in the last year to say that she has been paying the money into the wrong account, if they could trace the last payment of R1400 and stated it went to the wrong account. I would not recommend anyone to open an Edgars account because not one is capable of sorting out a problem.
