Edgars Closed Accounts ****s

My wife had an account with Edgars which she paid up and closed in 2015 at their Pretoria Kolonade branch. Now she is receiving SMS notices that her account is in arrears. At first they threatened her that they will hand over the account to attorneys for debt collection and when she told them to do so the took another approach. Then they wanted her ID number which she of course denied them, and asked them for proof of transactions. Now they offer discount when she settles the account. It looks like when Edcon took over somebody (employees maybe) started using old customer accounts to de***** people and Edcon is either playing along or are just simply ignoring complaints of this nature. I now know of quite a few people who are having the same problem. Some are even now deceased but the families are now targeted. Unfortunately these ex customers have no way of stopping these ********** claims as nobody, especially Edgars/Edcon, is trying to address these allegations.
