EDGARS CARD VALIDITY DEPENDENT ON GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION OF THE SHOE

<p>In an effort to build up some sort of credit record, I attained an Edgars card a while back, also being enticed by the wide array of brands which have been added to the Edcon group. As was my understanding, I could put the transaction at Mac, for instance, on my edgars account. Yesterday I endeavoured to buy my brother a pair of shoes at Aldo in Clearwater for his court appearance (where he is to be admitted as an attorney) only to be told that I could not put the transaction on my edgars card. When I enquired why not, the manager continued to tell me that Aldo was not a member of Edcon. Shocked at this revelation, I asked why then Aldo merchandise was being sold in Edgars stores... to which she responded.... if I want to buy the shoes on my edgars card I can only do that from within an Edgars store. Realising, i wasn't going to win, I paid cash for the shoes and left.</p> <p>If the manager was right, somebody needs to tell Boardmans, where I bought a frying pan only weeks earlier in their store. </p> <p>Does the validity of my edgars card depend on the geographical location of the shoe within the mall? </p> <p>I have never had this issue with The Foschini Group and just strengthens my loyalty to Edcon's competitors. No wonder Edcon had to give away equity because it couldn't make its debt repayment; there are functional flaws at every echelon of its business. </p>
