Edgars are cold hearted theives

I closed my Edgars account in 2017! for over a year I received no response whatsoever from Edgars: not my edgars statements, not a sms and not an Email. After not receiving any correspondence for over a year I saw no point in keeping the receipts (my biggest mistake), after all the account was closed and I was no longer a customer of Edgars. A further 5-6 months passed and I still received no correspondence. Suddenly on the 7 august 2018, I receive an sms asking me to "pay my account". After phoning customer care and getting nowhere, I went to Edgars at Liberty Midlands Mall in Pietermaritzburg. The manageress who viewed my account agreed that it looked strange. My account showed that I have a balance of R1296.00, my last payment was in February 2017 and my last purchase was in March 2017. Even though according to them I have this balance, my installment from April 2017 to June 2018 was R0.00. The manageress phoned Edgars customer care on my behalf and pointed out discrepancies on my account and customer care couldn't explain it. They promised to get back to me. After that I received two more sms', one threatening further action if payment is not made ( I have still not received my statement saying the amount due, but I receive an sms saying that I am overdue). Sometime later I receive a call from customer care with feedback repeating what is already known " that I have a balance of R1296.00, my last payment was in February 2017 and my last purchase was in March 2017". This is what was supposed to be investigated! I am aware that I have a balance, what I want to know is, why is my account in the state it is after I closed it?? I received an Email on the 02 September 2018 saying that I have to pay the account. Please help me from these *******s. This is Edgars way of *****ing .

ref no: ********** 1448/GO I received a call from Edgars on the 05/09/2018: they assured me that they have been looking into my account, which is good because I spoke to quite a few idiots who did nothing. The very "bright" people at Edgars told me that my account was closed but the balance was not settled. I asked the consultant "how is that even possible?" Edgars is way too greedy to let that happen!!!!!!! The consultant didn't have an answer for me, but she was kind enough to let me know that "even after the investigation was over, I would still be liable for that amount." That doesn't even make sense! I explained to the consultant "that I am not stupid, and that for me to be under the impression that the account was closed I must have paid my account off. she agreed! I then asked her "if she thought that it was fair to ask me to pay an amount that I have already paid?" She didn't have an answer for me; she then put me on hold...and I stayed on hold until the call cut. Then a lady by the name of Roberta Henry ********** sent me an Email saying that my balance was not settled. I think that Edgars made a mistake, I think that Edgars know they made a mistake; but they're trying to make me pay for their mistake. In 2017 I closed my account because Edgars was going to be charging their customers an additional service fee and I didn't want to pay for that; but Edgars has to get your money in one way or the other: I closed my account but Edgars still tracked me down to harass me for money. If you read many of the other complaints, it would seem that Edgars is running quite a big Racket. According to the dictionary "A Racket" is a planned or organized ******** act, usually in which the ******** act is a form of business or a way to earn ******* or ******ed money regularly or briefly but repeatedly. YIP...sounds like Edgars to me

By the way; please try not to flatter yourselves, I only rated Edgars one star because ZERO was not an option.
