Edgars and Returns Policy on Perfume

My father received 212 VIP Men perfume as a gift. The only reason it was given to him is because he tried the tester and was raving about it. After opening and giving himself one spray it definitely did not smell the same as the tester he tried.

Edgars now refuses to return the perfume as the cellophane was removed. My father dislikes the smell of the perfume he received. How do we know the tester he tried was in fact this brand??

Please can someone give me some advice? At least if he receives a refund or a voucher he can get him something else.
