Edgars and Edcom make false promises and don't deliver

Edgars telsales peron phoned me saying I can join their VIP membership for only R60 per month. In exchange I would get R2000 worth of gift vouchers. It would take two days to process my voice log and then I would get an sms with a confirmation code which I could take to any Edgars store and redeem the voucher. I waited but nothing happened. I got the same call with the same sales pitch at least three times. In the mean time Edgars deducted R60 from my paid up account each month. When I saw they were deducting the amount without me getting my vouchers I phoned in and enquired about it. The first time Edgars refunded me the amount. I then emailed them on the 25th of May quering the amount a second time. with no response. On the 12th of June I emailed Edgars again stating in no uncertain terms they must cancel the VIP membership. The second deduction happened and I then phoned and told them to cancel the membership. This was around the 18th of June. The sales person said they would escalate the call. I got no response. On Friday the 22nd of July I phoned again after I got an email from Edgars saying they were going to blacklist me for the non payment of the account. I then phoned Edgars and asked to speak with Sue-Ellen Johnson. Her name appeared on the collection letter from Edgars only to be told she no longer works in that department. This alledgedly happened two days before I phoned. I asked to speak with a Manager who said she would escalate the matter. I then asked her what was the result of the first escalation. She could not answer me. I then asked to speak to the customer relations manager. They said the person was not available. I then asked that that person phone me before close of business yesterday, which of course did not happen. When I asked about my gift vouchers that I was promised the manager that I did speak with said the telesales reps were not authorised to promise that to me.

Summary:

Edgars telemarketers **** to me on voice logs.

I received no policy wording in the post or via email.

I was not informed as to how I can cancel my membership.

Edgars wanted to blacklist me for a product I have been tryin gto cancel for the last 3 months.

Edgars did not follow up with me when I asked them to escalate the matter.

Edgars customer service did not follow me up when I sent them emails or when I asked them to phone me back due to them being unavailable.

Everything I said above is available on voice logs and emails.

Good day.

My lawyer advised that I should give you 48 hours to respond.

The 48 hours are up. What is the result of your prioritised immediate intervention?

Good morning Edgars

I see there is still no reply or feedback from you.

Can you tell me that you are at least still busy with my complaint and that you are not simply ignoring me.
