Edgar vs Edgars Active

So I received an sms advising me that I get a 50 % discount if I spend R1500 or more at Edgars, I spend almost an hour at Edgars Active Musgrave Centre, after selecting my items I go to the counter to pay, only to find out that I cannot use the Edgars voucher at the Edgars Active store, apparently they aren't the same but get this, I can still make a normal purchase using my Edgars card. Does this make any sense? It is absolutely ridiculous, the staff were friendly but I am utterly livid, I need an explanation. Is Edgars telling me that it is ok to lose a sale? I am still willing to purchase those items, one of which was the very last pair of the sneakers that I so liked, somebody please help me, not a good adverti*****t for Edgars, really disappointing!
