Does RCS (edgars)customer services know what they are doing

I have also had an account with Edgar's stores for a number of years and was very happy with them until RCS took over the accounts and the first encounter I had with this company was in july last year when I made a small purchase on my account for R400 and a week later a consultant phoned me to ask me why I had not made a payment on my previous month's account. I told her that I did not make a payment for June because I did not owe anything and my account was paid up in full. The debt i now owed was a new purchase i had just made and was due in August. I have a 12 month account but paid this recent purchase by the 6 October in full getting the final balance in store therefore paying my account off in two months. I then received a sms that they had forgotten to charge me interest for september and would double bill me in october. At the time I had not received any account smss for August or September and also becer received an account for october interest or otherwise. In the beginning of December I received a demand for R95 and when I phoned customer services the lady explained that RCS charges a service fee of R30 a month even in accounts that are fully paid up and I objected to this because I found out years before their takeover that edgars does not charge any fees on nil balances and do not charge account holders to keep their accounts open. This is one of the things RCS failed to inform their customers about when they took over. The consultant reversed the charges but in January the charges were back including the new months fees. After many useless calls to the customer service center I decided to close my account. This time I had hot hold of RCS consultant (not edgars) who phoned me about a different matter and i pacjed out to her thinking that she was dealing with my account which of course she wasn't. She directly reversed what had now grown to R154 and confirmed that my account was at a nil balance both by sms and email. I then got hold of the CEO at *** and told him of my problems and my wish to close my account and my refusal to pay any further service fees. Now after +-three weeks i am now told that there is a 36 day period required till they can close the account. This new email i just received tonight after sending several emails over the past three weeks concerning me closing the account.
