Dead phone..... Can't replace but fix after 30 days has lapsed

My sister bought my son a new cellphone in Edgars in Pretoria on the 10 January 2026 which she did not open but kept the phone until she brought it to Rustenburg while on a business trip yesterday 23 January 2026

We tried to switch on the phone but did not switch on.

We tried to charge the phone but the phone did not charge it just vibrated only when plugging the charger.

We went to Edgars Waterfall Mall to exchange the phone since it never switched on but they said that the warranty has not activated as yet as it will activate on the 10 February 2026.

The lady who assisted said to my kids that she can't help but only after 10 February 2026 where she can send the phone in for repairs.

I don't want this phone anymore and I want our money back. I don't want anything to do with Edgars or the group anymore.
