Damaged Goods - Bad Attitude

Received a Nine West purse bought from this branch as a Christmas Gift. Written sticker with \bar code"and price (R499.95) in the purse No slip available. The metal sticker which prevents theft of purses from Edgars was stuck on the leather of the purse and lifting the sticker damaged the purse. We attempted to return the purse and swap out with another similar Nine West purse (there were none left of the same purse) and we were told that the code on the sticker was for a R124.95 purse and unless we can prove that it was purchase for the price on the sticker then it's not their problem.<br> <br> The customer service team was extremely unhelpful and proceeded to laugh at us once we called the Manager - Sihle - to explain. Sihle is the one who then offered us a R124.95 gift card for a R499.95 purse. They then all proceeded to laugh some more. I understand the point that we couldn't 'prove' that the purse was purchased at R499.95 without the slip but It's a Nine West purse and common sense would tell you that the code is incorrect. Why should the customer suffer because some idiot first created the problem by damaging the purse and then having the wrong code on the sticker? <br> <br> Disgusting."""

Hello Weeball,

We must sincerely apologise for the overall experience. We can imagine that the purse was expensive but without the proof of purchase we cannot determine the price it was sold at, because the current system price says something different.

We apologise for the manner in which this matter was handled.
