Customer Service and lack thereof!!!!

I've had an Edgars account for 10+ years. Since having my account I've always paid my account on time after receiving my statement. January 2018 I stopped receiving statements. When I called Edgars to find out what's happening with my statement I was sent from pillar to post. Finally, I get a call about my account only to find out my account was handed over for non payment! My balance went from R2700 to R7300? How does the account jump from that amount overnight? No communication whatsoever from Edgars, then all of a sudden my balance has trippled! I spoke to my lawyer and even to him its a mystery as to how an account can jump to tripple the amount especially with no communication. It's day light *******! I have never received any form of communication from Edgars with regards to my account going from R2700 to a whopping R7300. Is this how Edgars treats their loyal customers? By handing them over with no notice then miraculously owing triple the amount initially spent? If I knew this is how I'd be treated (after 10 years of loyalty) then I never would have opened an account in the first place, nor spread Edgars years of great service to my customers, friends and family. Way to 'thank' your customers for their loyalty. Worst of all when I called the call center to query about the handing over and the interest I was literally told 'sorry we can't help u' by arrogant employees and managers that couldn't be bothered to explain what happened to my account! How ***********! Can someone competent call me to resolve this issue, I point blank refuse to pay R7300 when I got no customer service from Edgars for months on end to no avail, when I did try to settle my account. I would like to settle my account and just cut ties with Edgars because clearly Edgars does not know anything about customer loyalty and keeping customers happy.
