Consumer protection act for incorrect pricing, who does it apply to

<p>According to the CPA law if there is an error in the price, the supplier cannot insist that the consumer pay a higher price for the goods or services than the one they display. If more than one price is displayed, the consumer is not required to pay the higher of the two prices displayed. On the 18.05.2016 I went shopping at Edgars Westgate mall. As I was shopping I saw this nice white sissyboy bag on sale. As I got to the till I asked the lady I got this bag and I see the price is 7.70 she checked on the system and said the sale price is R550.00. I then said I hear you saying that however on the price tag you cancelled the original price of 1099.00 and wrote 7.70 so may I please have the bag with this price of 7.70. After our long argument she went to call the manager (FAZIEL TIMMS ) who told me straight to my face he won’t sell the bag to me at 7.70. If this is the kind of services we get from the services providers, then why do we have the CPA law that won’t be taken to consideration? When does it apply and to whom does it apply. Was I not within my rights to purchase this bag? In closure please note I still want this bag as I feel I was given bad services. And the manager for Edgars Westgate must go back and not only read but learn the CPA law.</p>
