Cloned Card - Collections & ***** Division

I paid up my account in October 2016 - but kept it open (which I now sincerely regret). I got a call from the Edgars ***** division in November 2016 to advise that my card was used for over R10k worth of purchases in Middelburg (I live in Cape Town). I was instructed to get the proper documentation from my nearest branch, and to complete these with a police avidavit and submit back to the Edgars branch for investigation. That was all done by mid December 2016. Since then I have had countless calls and SMSs to advise that my account is in arrears and will be submitted to a debt collection agency - but NO call from their so-called ***** division. I have tried to contact Edgars on All of their available lines - with absolutely no success. Nobody knows anything about the case, and the accounts department does not have any links to the ***** division.

The number I was given for this division is ********** 390 but it is not valid. No other number is published for a ***** division either. I've called the SA ***** division but they cannot help without the Edgars division supplying me with an account cancelled letter.

I am so frustrated and worried. I conducted my account well, and now I am being threatened with collection agencies and can not get any feedback from them.

Don't open an account with Edgars - if you do your card will be cloned and you will have to pay the price.
