CHRISTMAS - A TIME FOR TAKING AT EDGARS

I was given a gift card as a birthday gift to spend at Edgars and kept the card for a few years until I found something memorable to spend it on and when I tried to use it last weekend their customer service division and head office said that the card expired and they forfeit the money on the card! So basically if you dont know that the card expires they just take your money for nothing. I asked if they can reactivate the card as they also could see how much was still on the card on their system but just chose not to allow me to use the money. They said they used to reactivate the expired cards for customers and do not do this anymore....sounds like a great investigation for the Consumer Counsel! Note to all consumers - do not buy gift cards for your loved ones from Edgars as it just gets forfeited.
