Can’t try on shoes in store anymore?

If you plan on buying a pair of shoes and think there might be a possibility that you’d want to try/ test fit them on in store, then you can forget about it!

So I went to Edgars Cresta wanting to get a pair of sneakers. As I found my size, I was going to quickly test fit them and purchase if all was good. Then one of the staff member quickly told me I cannot try them on. Then I said how am I supposed to know if they’re ok for me before purchasing. So he said I can purchase them, take them home and try them on and return it to the store if it doesn’t fit. I told him I didn’t see any signs around that say you can’t try on any shoes. So he said that’s the policy.

What nonsense is that? Is that one of the COVID-19 guideline rules now? No shoe fitting?

Firstly, who is going to reimburse me for my time and petrol for driving back to the store to hassle a return? Secondly, From a hygiene perspective, what difference does it make? Coz gd knows what ppl might do to those shoes before they get returned, so in fact that’s more of a risk than to just let ppl try them on in store.

So I dropped the shoes and left the store. Went to 2 other stores which had the same sneakers and asked them if I can try them on, and both stores gladly said yes it’s not a problem at all. So I got it from there instead.

In times like these, majority of stores have resumed back to normal, as long as you follow the hygiene basics. What makes you so special that you need to impose such policies whereas virtually no other stores do that?

You guys really deserve to tank! That would be my last time wanting to purchasing anything from Edgars.
