Cannot close Edgar's account.

I am trying to close of my Edgars accounts for the last month and half. I've paid the balance owing however they cant confirm the account is closed. Their call centre keeps telling me to wait 30 days. I receive a statement this months and they charged me fees on a zero balance account. The branch cant help and are complaining about the call centre themselves. They cant get through and they receiving the same complaint from their customer. I have not received a reference number for all my calls to the call center. Apparently they dont have ref no. Now I dont have proof of my request to close the account.
