Can't Change New Account from 12 to 6 months

Today I walked into Edgars Clearwater branch to open a 6 months interest free account for my daughters. The account was incorrectly processed as 12 months. It was an honest mistake. Together with the store tried to rectify this error while I was still seated thereby the new accounts desk. We called one department that referred us to Customer Service^Care Department. We called and I spoke to a gentleman by the name of Bheki Sulu. He advised that they cannot change company policy just for me! I don't take it that it's impossible to make such a small chang!? Also losing a new account just for such a small error! I him to close my account which he did with no regrets or follow up questions to save the account! Funny enough I was advised that I should call again in 12 months should I change my mind and want the 12 month account I rejected. Where is customer service here?!

I have a Truworths account that I do not pay interests for because I always pay at 6 months, And it's flexible between 6 and 12 months per transaction. I do not have a problem with fixed 6 months, but it's not 12 months I was looking for....
