Blatant Copy of Design

I am utterly livid about what I have just discovered. In January I bought a dress from Zara, which I was extremely proud of and considered an investment piece.

Until I received a picture from a friend who went to an Edgars branch yesterday – of an exact copy of the Zara dress!!! The quality was infinitely worse, but the style, design, even the colours of the crochet flowers, were all copied from the Zara dress 100%. How is this allowed?! Taking somebody else's design, and passing it off as your own? You justify it with 'Oh, no, the flowers aren't exactly the same and there aren't as many on the dress' – meanwhile anyone can see how BLATANT this copy is. Utterly shameful and disgusting practice.

There are those of us who prefer to save our hard-earned money and buy fewer, good quality items we can be proud of. And then cheap copies get made by stores like Edgars – I feel like my dress has been significantly cheapened by this blatant copy, and I want nothing to do with a store that operates in such a manner.

Shame on you, Edgars – you could at least have tried to LOOK like you made an effort to produce something original for your customers and that you don't have to go and copy others' designs to stock your stores.
