accusation of theft

On 3 April I went into Edgars on the Bluff. Had a look around and went to pay my account. That was the only time I opened my handbag. On exiting the store my handbag apparently beeped at the security stand. I was called back by the security guard who said my bag beeped and maybe I had a tag in it.I would have had a tag only if I had taken something off the shelf and put it into my bay. Called the manager who tried to calm me down and asked the guard to apologise to me. Came home and made a complaint to Edgars on their website. Nothing happened. No response. Today 4 June I went into the same store but took a different bag. This time the thing beeped as I entered the store. I was approached by a security lady who said she would like to check my bag as it beeped. Taken to the cosmetic counter where the two assistants wanted to examine my bag as well (as far I am concerned it was not their job). One of them said maybe I had a tag from another store. What does that mean? I'm a *****! Called the manager who remembered me. She said that maybe the metal in the bag sets off the alarm. So why not get it fixed. How many people suffered the same embarrassment that I did
