Account Service fee
<p>I received an email from Edgars on 29/08/2016, thanking me for agreeing to their new service fee of R22.80 on 08/08/2016 - not something I recall doing firstly, I would never agree to pay this. Now on my September statement they have charged me double for the service fee, how ridiculous! I refuse to pay for this Edgars, and will be closing my account as soon as I've paid of the balance.</p> <p>I've been a customer for more than 15years, and now I must pay interest and services fees on a supposed 6 months interest free account - madness, and thw worse store with the worst service, I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on!</p> <p>Bunch of ****** *****ing from the public!</p>
Please note that the service fee will not be levied to your account without your authorisation. Although it has become necessary to charge a service fee, we have taken the plight of our customers into consideration and discounted this fee to R22.80 per month which equates to R273.60 yearly as opposed to the prescribed maximum fee of R60 allowed per month by the NCA (R720 yearly) .
As noted within the letter , your consent will be required when next purchasing in store and should you wish to decline the implementation of the service fee, Edcon reserves the right to action your account accordingly.
As per investigation you have accepted the service fee on the 8th August 2016 at Edgars mall of Africa ,16:30
