"Account protection plan"
I have been trying since December 2020 to cancel my account protection plan. Edgars management advised that this "protection plan" was compulsory for clients who do not have a life insurance policy. I then went on to email the accounts department a copy of my life insurance policy so that they could cancel the "protection plan". After about a month they responded that that the policy has been cancelled but they very politely deducted an installment the same month...and I did not make a big deal about it. Low and behold, yesterday I received my latest statement and they are still charging fees for "account protection plan". What the hell is going on Edgars??? We know that your business is not doing well right now but really??? You are now *****ing from a single mother. That's incredibly pathetic. I have already made an appointment to take the matter further with the consumer court. I just want other Edgars customers out there to know that the "protection plan" is ONLY compulsory if you don't have life cover. Nobody will tell you this unless you ask them about it because it so easy to squeeze the money out of the uninformed public in order to push the business agenda forward.
