Account not closed, interest and fees

In 2014 I had an account with Edgars that was handed over to collection agency,Which then offered me a settement discount.They said if I pay R *** my balance will be zero'd by Edgars & I would receive paid up letter after 6 weeks. I paid the money and they told me they have issued an instruction to Edgars, It seems this is not even attended to. I went this weekend to check my credit record and my Edgars account is still there and accumulating interest. This is unacceptable. What do I have to do to get this resolved, I thought this was sorted in 2014?
