6 Months to Pay?

In 1983, when i started my first full time job after school i opened my Edgars account in order to build a good credit record so that this could be considered in time to come for car loan, etc.

From September my account statements have been as follows:

BALANCE INSTALLMENT
3115.88 1135.53 SEPTEMBER
2593.70 1209.53 OCTOBER
1202.73 1202.26 NOVEMBER

What happened to 6 months to pay (interest free)?

Two years ago a similar thing happened to me and the manager of the Brooklyn Store, Claire, assisted me in sorting out the problem - although we spoke on the phone and i emailed her, it was not until i actually went into the store that she assisted in resolving the problem.

The thing that concerns me most about this is that Edgars is not only not being UN-ethical in this practice, more importantly this is toying with MY GOOD CREDIT RECORD. Having no time to call anyone and sort this out earlier and wanting attention to the matter this is the only way to draw the attention of Edgars management.
