Dishonest re-keying services

I had a high security lock sent in to them a year or so ago for re-keying as I had lost the original set of keys. All seemed well until this last week when I had to get an extra set cut elsewhere by another locksmith. On providing him the key and asking for extras he asked what the key was for , when I told him it was for a high security lock he laughed and thought I was joking! Turns out these guys did re key the lock but they fitted only 1 tumbler in the entire lock!! In essence this therefore could be opened with a paper clip or piece of wire by anyone with little effort as the lock wasnt done properly with multiple pin tumblers being fitted. I was shown how the lock works and how the original key only had 1 groove in it with the rest of the key straight! As laymans they are taking advantage of customers not knowing any better by not keying the locks properly, fitting poor quality cheap components or cutting corners to increase profits at the same price it should cost to do it properly! I paid over R500 for the lock rekey services at the time. In these current times with crime Please be extremely wary of these people, they are dishonest and cannot be trusted to do the job correctly or can you trust your locks after being done with them.
