Edenvale Hospital Neglegence
I miscarried on 12 June 2021 at this hospital. On arrival I was already heavily bleeding. They made me wait for over an hour seeing that I arrived around 6am and they said they were having a shift change. Only got attended to around 8 after my water broke and I bled like a slaughtered animal. My pants and top were drenched in blood. Eventually when the attended to me a rude Pedi nurse was so rude to me told me to stop crying and forced me to sit straight up in all the pain I was I was in then had the audacity to ask me to go pee in a cup though I could barely walk and continued bleeding. Got to the toilet and tried peeing knowing very well there was no pee just blood. Then I returned to her with an empty cup which she shouted me for being empty. She kept on saying sies man cause whatever I touched ended up being ****** and my BP was extremely high and kept on telling me to calm down and stop being a cry baby, though I wasn't crying. And repeatedly told me to clean up after my self. Eventually I was put on a strecher after being weighed got to the emergency room and waited for about 30 to 45 minutes while they were attending to a Corona patient right next to me. Was a gentleman over the age of 50 I presume. There were about 4 to five Doctors wrestling him as he was wrestles and didn't want to keep his oxygen mask on. They brought in his wife to try and calm him down. Though honestly there was no sense of urgency. Eventually a nurse attended to me. She closed the curtains and asked me to strip naked cause my clothes where messing up the sheets. Then gave me a sheet just to cover my naked self. Mid you it's cold AF and the doors of the emergency room are wide open which are directly facing the hospital doors which are also wide open. I could feel the cold go directly into my body. Then a young lady Dr attended to me inserted my drips and continued with the procedure of removing my baby. Though she wasn't harsh she could have been more pleasant. While digging up my vigana she asked me if I had tried aborting the baby and my response was no while the nurse assisting her was busy cackling. Told her how excited I was and her response was sorry, should I put it in a paper bag for you. In fact there was no sense of urgency in that emergency room just doctors and nurses who were busy joking and fooling around talking about random stuff other than the lives there were supposed to be attending to. The nurse said there was no proof of pregnancy since I failed to pee in a cup. And will write it off as a miscarriage, as I was 14 weeks pregnant by the way. Mind you I wasn't given anything for pain I asked whether there was anything for pain in the two drips they had inserted in mw they said yes. Though there was no improvement in the pain I was feeling or the blood I continued losing. Eventually after about 20 to 30 minutes they decided to move me in the gynae ward. The nurses who took me there were pleasant. But the ones who were supposed to assist me at the ward were devils on earth and believe me that's an understatement. They made fun of the pain I was in and continued addressing me in Pedi though I could not understand the language thoroughly I heard what they were saying about since I lived in PTA for a good two years. Said I was annoying, and told me to clean after myself it was not their responsibility to touch me nor my blood. So I had to change my own linen sheets while hold two of my drips and my pee bag which was attached to my ******. It was pretty booldy so as I was trying to clean up after myself I kept on getting blood on everything. All the nurses badges were covered except for one nurse. Who showed me pitty by assisting me as I was making a mess and got me a hospital gown which she then assisted me to wear. Don't think she was on ward duty but was in reception duty. Her name is Octavia if not Olivia can't recall correctly. She was the only one with a visible badge. I then continued to lie down bleeding like crazy and was in pain. Then I told them I needed the bathroom which they said I can't go to, I ignored them and went anyway. When I got there I could tell a huge chunk of something wanted to come out so I took linen saver with me and set them on the bathroom for. I then continued to push. Pile of what seemed like livers came out of me and then I realized the there was no tissue in the toilet. Had to take. My bloodly self to reception to ask for tissue. When I told them what came out of me referring to it to izibindi in my native tongue one of the nurses mad fun of me and started calling me sbindi and laughed. Which I found disrespectful and insulting. Then said she hopes I didn't ditch it in the toilet that's not what hospital toilets are meant for. Anyway I took the the tissue and soup at the sink and started wiping everywhere I bled as they weren't assisting me and continuously told me to clean my mess. I cleaned my mess then went back to bed. If I wasn't bleeding I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten a bed as there were ladies sitting on the benches outside on linen savers. I then shouted nurse for about 40minutes before they attended to me only to give me paracetamol for the pain which didn't do ****. 4 of us were then told to carry our drips and files we were being taken to theater. Before we got there we were injected with injections in some shadey store room where the nurse said show me your bum and just inserted the injection roughly. Then we were walked to the theater and I our files were taken. At this point I felt like death and the 3 Dr White pads I has in my ****** kept slipping out cause of the bleeding. Eventually when I was attended to by the Dr for my cleaning I thought the injection they gave us would ease the pain which it didn't. I felt each and everytging they were doing to me to a pint I could taste the metal objects they were using in my mouth. The whole procedure was rough and I was done in ten minutes max as I was wishing for death while lying on that chair. They kept on telling me to stop my bleeding as if I could control it. Got out of there and was sent to have my BP checked. It was sky rocketing I was shaking and they didn't care one bit. The white Dr who checked my BP was remorseful and kind. The rest were just assholes. In the messed up state I was in I had to walk back to the ward and got to my bed. There was a new lady who was currently admitted going through the same thing I was going through but her tolerance level was low. She was crying ND hanging half way out her bed. When I got there she had dropped her phone and the pieces were scattered everywhere. I then assisted her to put it together so she could use it. The nurses weren't trying and were busy making fun of her, saying we think we gonna die but we WON'T then laughing at our pain. What irritates me the most was it was grown women but Im sure who have never experienced the loss of a baby. As I was about to lay down on my bed to make a call to my boyfriend to get me discharged immediately though the Dr who did surgery on me suggested vaguely I should be admitted because of my bleeding. I just wanted to leave so I got kicked out by one of then and she said we done with you, you may leave. I was in pain but happy. I got dressed and the lovely Octavia came to assist me with the removal of my drips. Which was done in another the same ward in a room filled with empty beds. Which had me questioning why were the other women treated so harshly. In that state the worst thing they could do to you is make you sit up straight on a hard wooden bench. Any way they had lost my file but nusrse Octavia managed to find in and the other nurse gave me my meds which had nothing for pain and I left. Only time I cried was when I saw my mom who drove all the way from MP to come collect and take me home. Didn't want the devils spawns to see me at my weekest. I then arrived home. When I started taking my anti biotic tablets I started experiencing a dry cough but I though it might just be the flu. Which was on Sunday the 13 of June 2021. It got worse couldn't sleep for the rest of Sunday night all through Monday morning where I was constantly coughing and now my chest was painful, my eyes sensitive to the light, my eyelids were painful, body aching, headache pounding and constantly throwing up. I felt super cold. My mom took me to a GP who then tried taking my blood pressure with some finger machine which did not read on any finger. So he listened to my heart using a stethoscope and found out it was beating really fast. Though when he used that pump they normally put around your arm he found out my BP was low. He then gave me 3 injections to stop the vomiting and and ease my pain as well as my headache. He then wrote me a to go get tested at the hospital for Covid 19. If I happen to have Corona I do believe I contracted it at Edenvale Hospital where I saw alot of saftey protocols being ignored.
I wish nobody goes through what I went through and strongly suggest them to go to a different hospital. Or you'll suffer from traumatic nightmares of the procedure I went through. I can't sleep cause everytime I close my eyes I see and feel the procedure I underwent.
