Doctors ignorance towards patients

My wife have been diagnosed with hernia but strangely the doctors are not keen in operating her. They have been giving her pain ****ers for the past 6 months now. I constantly have to take her to the hospital when the pain gets worse at night and the doctors at night would refer her to the day shift doctors. The day shift doctor would just give her pain ****ers ,I really don't understand why they wouldn't operate her. I mean they took an oath to serve the public...
