CHILD WELFARE SA FO REAL?!?

Please check the validity of ANY NPO before making donations! I cannot shake the feeling that “I’ve been had” by the so-called Child Welfare South Africa. I have often made donations to this “NPO”. NPO Reg No: 026-316 PBO Reg No: ***. Tel: ***- which differs from the number on their website: ***. One cannot get hold of them on either number to query issues or verify information. They also do not like EFTs… Being suspicious of it all, I last week agreed to donate R100. The amount was repeated several times. A person whose name and number I won’t disclose as yet, came to collect the R100. To my surprise the invoice was made out for R150. In view of the POPI Act, II sent an email to *** to remove my details from their database and forward the email to the parent company at *** - but have not had any response. They also do not answer ***.
