Do NOT fall for the influencer hype!!

Cant believe I fell victim to influencers again! I previously got some perfumes from Eden perfumes and was only ever happy with one called REBEL (this one actually smells good and lasts on skin/clothes), the others were such a waste of money. I fell for it again because an influencer on Tiktok claimed that the formula is now different. I bought Caramello and the one that is a replica for viva la juicy (I have both these fragrances so am able to actually compare apples to apples - I was looking for a dupe to wear day to day to not use my expensive ones everyday).

Caramello is meant to be a dupe for Marshmallow by Kayali, is it a dupe? Not really, There is a faint smell of similarity, the opening is nothing like it, and the dry down smells slightly like it in terms of the powdery marshmallow scent, but the scent does not last at all! I bought the matching lotion, not even 5 - 10 mins after spraying on my skin the scent is so light there is barely any smell. So I tried it on my clothes - NOTHING, there really is no smell at all. I am so bitterly disappointed.

The "viva la juicy" one smells straight up like fruit, a scent that a child would wear, there is nothing complex about it like the real Viva la Juicy which has notes of fruit in it but has more depth with sweet/candy/floral notes that is not detectible in this one at all. It really smells like a fragrance for a high schooler and is 100% not a dupe of Viva la Juicy, not in the opening or dry down. I'm not sure if maceration would work on these perfumes, I will be doing that nevertheless because I feel horrible having wasted so much money on it.

Perfumes are expensive, but I've learned my lesson again. Celebrity fragrances like Britney Spears and Billy Eilish/Ariana Grande are soooo good, I am rather going to save an amount per month to invest in these fragrances or get it on takealot through payflex, because although they're more expensive you cannot even compare the quality to this brand. It's really not worth to buy Eden perfumes.

Hi Elrese  Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you’re disappointed with your recent purchase.  At Eden Perfumes, we take quality seriously. Before any product reaches our shelves, we run countless  tests to ensure that it perform well on skin, clothes, and in real-life scenarios in general. Caramella Drip, in particular, was one of the longest-lasting scents during our testing phase, and we specifically worked on refining it to ensure longevity. Its has been created with Parfum de Extrait concentration - which is the highest within in the perfume industry.  That being said, perfume is a deeply personal experience. How a scent performs can vary greatly depending on factors like body chemistry, pH levels, skin type, diet, weather, and even the skincare products a person uses. This is exactly why we offer discovery kits with samples, so our customers can test out different scents and see how they develop on their skin before committing to a full bottle. It’s also why we have a fair refund and exchange policy, understanding that scent experiences vary from person to person.  It’s also worth noting that the D’Luxe Collection is not a dupe range. These are original creations inspired by current global trends. Scent perception is incredibly subjective, and what smells fruity or youthful to one person might smell soft and sweet to another.  We want to assure you that our brand is not built solely on influencer promotion. We have been in business since 2014, we have over 250 000+ happy customers across 26 physical stores, 9,000+ verified reviews on our website from real customers, as well as many positive reviews on here on Hello Peter where customers express how much they love our products. We're proudly South African and our mission has always been to offer high-quality, long-lasting perfumes at an affordable price, making luxury accessible to more South Africans.  We’re truly sorry your experience didn’t meet your expectations.
