Upset and very dissapointed

Good day, after being a Edcon client for many years, always having my account up to date, paying extra on my installments etc im very irritated at edcon today. I wanted to change my plan from 12 month interest bearing plan to 6 months and was told it is not allowed any longer. I find that to be *********, and i feel cheated that Im not allowed to try and save money on my account. I am seriously considering closing my account if this is not a change I can make on my account. I believe this kind of service is supposed to be a benifit to their clients and not become a burden. I suddenly view the brand in a different light

Hello daries,

Please note In terms of the amendments to the National Credit Act (NCA), an affordability assessment is key in ensuring the credit management process is aligned with standard risk principles and must evaluate the customer's ability to repay the credit extended, by utilising accurate and up to date information. Thus the business decision was taken to not change account plans from 12-6 months.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
