Unauthorized policies.
Morning Sir or Madam
I herewith would like to express my utter disappointment with the Edcon group. Reason for this is dissatisfaction is because they have been billing my elderly mother's account for policy's she has no clue of and has never ever received documentation about these insurance's or policies they put her on. They billed my mother for the following policies: Mobile Content fee (we do not know who authorized this and mom knows nothing about this mobile content thing), Family Funeral Insurance (she has never taken out this policy and has never received documentation and once again we do not know who authorized this policy) and in 2012 when the Personal Accident Insurance was R25 my mother cancelled the policy but they kept on billing.
We became aware of this issue because my mother keeps on paying and the installment seems to be on the same amount all the time and hence we inquired for a breakdown as to why the installment is still so high and to our surprise my mother was being billed for things she was unaware of. We do not know why they stopped sending statements because no-one stopped Jet from sending out statements. If they have a problem with the post office why can't they send out the statement via my email address? How on earth do they do what they are doing to my mother's account? We insist that the money they have been debiting from her account for the unknown policies that they pay back to my mother and better yet put that money towards my mother's Jet account.
Someone needs to be accountable for this mess!
We have been inquiring and waiting for feedback for a while and no-one is getting back to us about this matter.
We need a way forward.
