****ty company, must close immediately

In July 2018 I walked into an edgars branch at Chris Hani Vosloorus to close my account as I no longer needed it. I was told that I need to also close my airtime contract account with this other ***** company they're affiliated with. So I called them from the branch and stayed on the line for close to an hour with no answer so I hung up as I was on my way to work. Edgars gave me a cancelation reference number which I still have to this day. When I got to work I called the airtime contract company again and again there was no answer 20 minutes into the call. I then tried calling multiple times after that to no success. I then got a lucky break last year April and spoke to the manager who said they would cancel my account and refund me from July 2018. A year later it seems they haven't done that and edcon still calls me regarding the account that I closed which they gave me a cancelation reference for. It has now been handed over to legal which is affecting my credit record.
