Ridiculous charges for paying the account before the 1st.

<p>I opened a Edgars Edcon account in March this year and every since I have been paying R400 every month but my account was not going down, after paying the slip 'small statement that you get after paying' will tell me I owe then *** then the electronic statement is R70 extra and next month when I go to pay it's R100+ extra so I asked the Edcon sales persons' and I was told it's because I pay before the 1st as Edcon collects their money on the 1st of every month hence my account is not going down. I called the customer service and I was told that I pay 22% monthly interests and 17% of every R100 I owe them. I want home calculated and all that didn't make sense; I ended up closing the account as I have paid R700 extra for paying my account before the 1st of every month. </p>
